Quotes sent to you
A quote is a priced proposal from the company. It lists the work, quantities, prices, and a total. It is not a bill — you have not been charged until an invoice is issued.
How you receive a quote
Most companies email a link. Opening it shows the quote in your browser. You do not need an office login.
If the company has invited you to their customer portal, the same quote also appears under Quotes after you sign in.
Draft quotes that the office is still writing are not shown to you.
What you can do
While the quote is still waiting for a reply, you can usually:
- Accept — you agree to the quote as shown. The company then arranges the work.
- Decline — you say no. You can optionally give a reason.
- Request changes — you ask the office to amend it. You can still accept or decline afterwards.
Once you have accepted or declined, those buttons are replaced by a short confirmation.
If someone else already responded, you may see that the quote can no longer be updated.
PDFs and totals
Download PDF saves the same branded document the office produces. Totals follow the company’s VAT settings: you may see a single price, or amounts excluding and including VAT.
A quote past its valid-until date may still be visible, with a note that it has expired. That does not accept or charge anything by itself.
